How to clean oven and remove grease and grime without heavy scrubbing

Oven cleaning is a super easy chore to put off as most households simply close the door and forget about the mess, but it has a terrible roll-on effect.

Months can go by before the full horror of the situation is fully realised, but by then households are faced with layers of hard baked-on grease and grime.

Just like cleaning your air fryer, tackling your oven doesn’t need to involve “heavy scrubbing”.

Cleaning influencer Chantel Mila shared her go-to method on how to clean the inside of your oven on her TikTok account @mama_mila_

She captioned the video: “Make your oven shine without heavy scrubbing. This mix has been my go-to for years and it works so well to melt oven grime.”

Chantel starts by showing the camera the inside of her stained oven and follows up by combining one cup of baking soda and a third cup of dish soap.

She then mixes the two items together and instructs the solution to be applied to the entire inside of your oven before leaving it to sit for 30 minutes.

Chantel explained that this mix “does the hard work of breaking down tough grease”.

After leaving the mixture to sit, Chantel then goes in with a scraper blade tool to “cut through burnt-on marks easily”.

A scraper blade is a professional tool for effectively cleaning burnt-on food from the oven interior without leaving scratches behind.

Chantel recommends purchasing one from Amazon. Express.co.uk found the Cleanse Multi-Surface Cleaning Tool to be one of the most highly rated options for just £8.49. Customers have rated the product nearly five stars for its easy use and comfort.

However, one customer claimed that “the lock won’t hold and the blade isn’t securely held.”

A scraper blade can also be picked up from Curry’s for £3.32. However, this product is more aimed towards lifting dirt from hobs rather than inside ovens.

After the cleaning process, Chantel used a sponge to wipe away the dirty mixture accumulated from the stains and the oven was left gleaming.
