Judd Trump will face Barry Hawkins in the UK Championship final on Sunday after the pair defeated Kyren Wilson and Mark Allen in the final four.
The Bristol potter thumped reigning world champion Wilson 6-2 in the earlier semi-final, winning the last six frames of the contest.
And he was tucked up, enjoying watching his next opponent compete until 1am on Sunday morning in order to reach the showpiece match, which would commence 12 hours later at the York Barbican.
A tough five-hour match against the world No. 3 saw Hawkins finally come out on top in a deciding frame to reach the final for the very first time in his career.
Hawkins stunned Shaun Murphy 6-2 on Friday and defeated Ronnie O’Sullivan in the opening match of the tournament, richly earning his spot against Trump, though he has just a few hours to rest before the first session at 1pm.
