In 2024, Malayalam cinema has been mastering the box office formula with the tremendous success of films like Abraham Ozler, Premalu, Bramayugam, Manjummel Boys, Aadujeevitham, Varshangalkku Sesham, and Aavesham. It’s also a year where male stars appear uninhibited about baring it all… yes, in the nude. Despite scenes being deleted from the final cut, Sreenath Bhasi bared all in Manjummel Boys during a dream sequence, with a poster later surfacing post-release. In Aadujeevitham, Prithviraj Sukumar shed his clothes in a scene depicting his character’s frailty after enduring months of hardship and torture in a desert camp. In Nadikar, directed by Lal Jr, Tovino Thomas portrays David Padikkal, a young superstar in Malayalam Cinema. Introduced in the film’s opening act, he revels in his stardom and indulges in a debauched lifestyle of alcohol, drugs, and sex. There’s a scene where he awakens in bed with two scantily clad women, presumably after a threesome. After flaunting his long locks and flexing his muscles, the next shot reveals him in the shower, briefly exposing his bare back. Ladies, take note!

Now, we don’t know if it is Tovino himself who has performed the nude scene, or if it involves a body double, or perhaps even VFX! Even prior to its release, Nadikar has garnered significant attention from viewers, largely due to a lip-lock between Tovino Thomas and Bhavana featured in the promotional video for the song “Kireedam”. This kiss also appears in the film, making its mark right from the opening act.
